Arrived at Sebastin Inlet State Park

Day two and three of our drive down to Florida were really smooth. After leaving the Nashville area on Tuesday morning, we basically spent the day trying to "out run" a large storm that was moving across the southeastern part of the country.

Luckily, other than strong winds, we were able to keep ahead of the rain and severe weather.
We just had a few little motor home issues. There was a leak in a hose — we stopped at a Home Depot on Tuesday afternoon and the super engineer easily fixed it.

The only other "issue" was occasionally, for no apparent reason, the gauges would go crazy. The oil pressure and heat would "peg out," or go all the way to the extreme. We stopped the first time it happened, but then it went back to normal. So after happening a couple of times and then going back to normal, Greg concluded it was a problem with the instrument panel voltage (note oil pressure in the dangerous zone).
Our boys had told us about Serial, the popular podcast hosted Sarah Koenig, one of the journalists from This American Life.

We ended up listening to the entire Season One which was about the murder of Hae Min Lee in Baltimore in 1999 and the trial of her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, for her murder. Our boys were right — the series was riveting and it was a great way to pass the time driving.

We arrived at Sebastian Inlet State Park at about 1pm today (Wednesday). The park is located about 14 miles south of Melbourne Beach and 10 miles north of Vero Beach on the Atlantic side of Florida. The park occupies 1,000 acres on two barrier islands — it is know for fishing and surfing.

We're glad to be here and grateful for our safe journey.

And best news ever! See this photo from Minnesota after we left home!
