After a wild week with a potential home sale and inspection, we left on Sunday for Florida. It's hard to believe that this is the 7th year that we are traveling in our motor home to several Florida State Parks.Last year was supposed to be our motor home's "last trip." However, after Greg did a roadside fuel tank repair during last year's Florida trip and some brake line replacement this summer, we decided to try one more trip south in our trusty motor home.
We are in a time of big transition — selling the home we've lived in for almost 34 years, taking our "last trip" in the motor home we've had for almost 19 years. . . . lots of changes for us.
One year when our boys were younger and we were on a trip, we gave everyone in our family an adventure name. I'm excited to go on this trip with my favorite adventurer, Greg, a.k.a. Shackleton.
Our plan is to go to three state parks in March, and then head back home for the big adventure of closing on our house and moving into a rental town home.
Truly, this has been the nicest weather we've ever had to start our annual trip to Florida. After an easy get-away, we traveled down to Gary and Linda's (Greg's brother) in Iowa to have dinner and spend the night.
Today's drive has gone smoothly with beautiful weather that warmed up to about 70. Tonight, we'll stay at a Flying J in Oak Grove — just north of Nashville. After another long drive tomorrow, we anticipate getting to Sebastian Inlet State Park early on Wednesday afternoon.
