Anastasia State Park

The couple who camped next to us at Sebastian Inlet told us their favorite park in Florida was Anastasia, located at St. Augustine. It is very difficult to get a reservation, but as luck would have it, there was one campsite available for tonight.

So we decided to leave Sebastian Inlet a day early and drive up to St. Augustine.

After checking into our campsite (which is beautiful!), we decided to bike to the beach.

There are four miles of beaches you can walk to from the campground. The beach, even though it is also on the Atlantic Ocean, is quite different from the one at Sebastian Inlet.

The sand was firm enough to ride a bike on, and it just seemed to go on forever. There were very few people, so we felt like we had this beautiful beach almost all to ourselves!

After walking a long ways, we set up our chairs and just enjoyed!

I've been reading a ton — my Kindle works great in the bright sun and packs away easily in my bike carrier.

When we had enough time on the beach, we biked to The Conch House Marina where we saw lots of charter fishing boats.

We decided to splurge and have a fancy drink before biking back to the motor home to make dinner.

The only thing we won't be able to do is bike into St. Augustine and see the old part of the city as we need to leave tomorrow about noon. We heard from our neighbors that it is so interesting — so we will have to plan another trip to this beautiful park!
